A dragonfly is a type of insect characterized by large eyes, two pairs
of winds and an elongated body. They are not usually quite as huggable
as this! For every one of the
RSPB insects adopted from Electronic Pet Shop a percentage of the profit goes to the
Royal
Society of the protection of Birds (RSPB) charity to help monitor and protect
vulnerable and endangered birds.
Dragonflies are similar to damselflies, but the adults can be differentiated
by the fact that the wings of most dragonflies are held away from, and
perpendicular to, the body when at rest. Dragonflies are also the fastest flying
insect... except this one can't fly.
