The House Sparrow is clearly declining in both gardens and this has
earned them a place on the red list. Noisy and gregarious, these
cheerful exploiters of man's rubbish and wastefulness, have even managed to
colonise most of the world. The ultimate opportunist perhaps, but now struggling
to survive in the UK along with many other once common birds.
The set of
RSPB soft toy birds are highly collectable and all have their own individual authentic call so they can converse about bird politics and the weather. To activate the call, just squeeze! For every
RSPB Bird Plush adopted from Electronic Pet Shop a percentage of the profit goes to the
Royal
Society of the protection of Birds (RSPB) charity to help monitor and
protect vulnerable and endangered birds such as the house sparrow.
Vanishing from the centre of many cities, but not uncommon in most towns and
villages, the house sparrow is absent from parts of the Scottish Highlands and
is thinly distributed in most upland areas. Even more information about this bird
and how to improve its declining population can be found at the
RSPB website.
Why not collect all the birds in the series? As with every pet
adopted at Electronic Pet Shop, the
RSPB house sparrow comes with its own personalised
adoption package.
