Some people do not know that the Ladybird is not a real bird.
It is infact among the best-known and most well loved beetles and they are very
easy to recognise! For every

vulnerable and endangered birds.
The most common species of ladybird are the two-spot and larger seven-spot
ladybirds. However, there are 40 species of ladybird that can be found in the
British Isles. Ladybirds are bright red to warn predators of their bitter taste.
They are also able to exude fluid that wards of ants, birds and even people. In
winter, adult ladybirds hibernate in cracks and emerge in April to find a mate.
